Job Description

  • Nursery Practitioner (Level 2/3) & Room Leader – Full Time – Monday to Friday (40 hours) – £27,000 to £31,500 per annum – Chelmsford CM1 – ASAP start

We are currently recruiting for both a Nursery Practitioner (Level 2/3) and a Room Leader to join a well-established, high-quality nursery setting in Chelmsford (CM2). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a professional and supportive team, with roles available for both developing practitioners and experienced early years professionals looking to take on leadership responsibilities. The nursery provides care for children aged 2–5 years and offers a warm, engaging environment with a strong focus on learning, development, and staff wellbeing.

About the Roles

Nursery Practitioner (Level 2/3): Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 2–5 years. Support children’s learning and development in line with EYFS. Assist with daily routines, activities, and transitions. Work as part of a team to maintain a safe and stimulating environment.

Room Leader: Lead a room and take responsibility for a group of children. Plan and implement engaging activities in line with EYFS. Support, mentor, and guide team members. Ensure high standards of care, learning, and safeguarding. Build strong relationships with parents and carers.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 3 required for Room Leader)
  • Previous nursery or childcare experience essential
  • Room Leader or senior experience desirable (for leadership role)
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Shift: Full time 40 hours

  • Level 2+ Full and relevant Childcare Certificate
