Deputy Manager/Room Leader - Peterborough PE1 - Term Time Only - Full time 36 hours - £28,000 PA - ASAP start
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Nursery Manager / Room Leader to join a well-established nursery setting. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support the overall leadership of the nursery while also taking responsibility for leading a room and ensuring high-quality care and education. The setting provides a nurturing and professional environment where children receive the highest standards of care, and staff are supported to develop and grow. This role would suit a confident leader who is passionate about early years education and enjoys working both operationally and within a room-based role.

Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years (Level 5 desirable)
- Previous experience working with children aged 0–5
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
- Experience working with SEN and external agencies desirable
- Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills
- Ability to lead a team and manage a room effectively
Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Deputise in the absence of the Nursery Manager
- Lead a room, ensuring high standards of care, learning, and development
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS
- Support, mentor, and supervise staff, including appraisals and training
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Support safeguarding, health & safety, and overall wellbeing of children
- Contribute to team meetings, planning, and continuous improvement of the setting
Shift: 4 days 8am-6pm & 1 day 8am-1pm
