Job Description

A nursery in Aylesbury are looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join their team! Hours: Full Time. Salary: £27,310.44 per annum plus bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

Early Years Practice

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
  • Act as a Key Person, supporting children’s emotional wellbeing and development
  • Complete observations, assessments, and learning journals
  • Promote independence, wellbeing, and learning through play

Safeguarding, Welfare & Safety

  • Safeguard children in line with EYFS and nursery policies
  • Report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Maintain safe supervision, hygiene, and high Health & Safety standards
  • Follow procedures for accidents, first aid, medication, and security

Teamwork & Communication

  • Build positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and professionals
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team
  • Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance

Operational Duties

  • Attend staff meetings and training
  • Support with meals, personal care, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Mentor students and trainees where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and Ofsted readiness

Requirements

Essential:

  • Full Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Experience working with children aged 0–5
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Positive, caring, and professional approach

Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid
  • SEND experience
  • Food Hygiene certification
  • Supervisory or mentoring experience
