Senior Engineer

Ideally based at our facility in Aberdeen however location is flexible. The Senior Engineer contributes to the design, development and delivery of mechanical systems and products, from concept and analysis through to workshop build, testing, commissioning, and offshore execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial: Create Functional Design Specifications, assist with tender bid documents, develop design plans, manage detailed design plans, support CoPQ initiatives, improve engineering efficiency, attend client meetings, lead incident investigations.
  • Technical: Maintain engineering procedures, leverage emerging technologies including AI, mentor junior engineers, support collaboration across locations, oversee technical content development, manage internal projects, create design manuals, provide hands-on support during build and testing, support technical setup during deployment.
  • Routine Engineering: Act as Lead Engineer on large projects, perform design verification (FEA, hand calculations), produce and review drawings and documents, oversee design process for new builds and modifications, chair Design Review meetings, provide engineering support across all phases, participate in FAT and SIT, provide offshore execution support when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IMechE or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and FEA tools.
  • Expertise in Ansys, SolidWorks Simulation, Mathcad.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical/structural design, lifting, hydraulics, drive trains, motion mechanisms.
  • Experience with ROV/diver-deployed subsea tooling beneficial.
  • Knowledge of risk analysis methodologies (FMECA) and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and Oil & Gas specifications (ASME, DNV, API, etc.).
  • Minimum 8 years mechanical engineering experience, with 5 years in oil & gas.
  • Proven track record of product development and commercialization.
  • Strong communication, project management, and commercial awareness skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop technical personnel.
