The Role

The main duties are to carry out training on electricity distribution and transmission systems and assess learner’s competency against national qualification standards.

  • Design and write high quality training packages for the electricity industry
  • Deliver high quality training in line with Fitting, cable jointing standards and health and safety legislation
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation at training premises
  • Liaise with customers on training needs
  • Maintain training equipment
  • Conduct NVQ/Diploma/End point assessment or trade test
  • Maintain records and support learners

The Person

Essential criteria: Minimum 5 years in electricity distribution/transmission or commercial sector; City and Guilds Level 2 or equivalent in relevant subject. Desirable: D32/33 assessor qualification, health and safety qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH), teaching qualification (PTTLS), working knowledge of LV and HV operations, authorisation for fitting or jointing or generator connection. Also requires: willingness to obtain assessor qualification, good analytical reasoning, ability to work independently, excellent communication, IT literacy, full UK driving licence.

Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm. Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.
