The Role

Role Purpose:

As a Senior Sales Manager within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], you are responsible for delivering revenue growth across a portfolio of key B2B clients and developing new business opportunities.

You will lead client engagement at a senior level, identifying and converting high-value opportunities across the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] portfolio. The role combines strong account development with proactive business development, with a focus on pipeline generation, opportunity progression and revenue delivery.

Success in the role is measured against KPIs/metrics including:

  • Strong pipeline coverage
  • Conversion of high-value opportunities into revenue
  • Growth across key accounts
  • Delivery of multi-service opportunities
  • New client acquisition

Scope:

  • Deliver against personal revenue targets aligned to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] budgets
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of opportunities across existing and new clients
  • Identify, develop and convert high-value opportunities across the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] portfolio
  • Develop key accounts to increase revenue and client engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders within client organisations
  • Develop and execute account plans aligned to sales targets
  • Collaborate with product specialists and wider [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] teams to deliver client solutions
  • Support Sales Managers in progressing opportunities where appropriate
  • Provide guidance to Sales Managers and members of the Booking team, sharing experience and best practice to support their development and performance
  • Hand off confirmed booking requirements to the Bookings team for execution

  • Maintain accurate CRM records (pipeline, activity, forecasting)
  • Provide clear updates on pipeline, performance, and risks

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Revenue Growth
    • Own and grow key accounts to deliver revenue targets
    • Create and convert high-value opportunities across multiple service lines
    • Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with clients
  • Client Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
    • Engage clients to understand requirements and identify opportunities
    • Maintain regular client engagement to support account growth
  • Commercial & Operational Discipline
    • Maintain and manage accurate pipeline, forecasting and CRM activity
    • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities for growth
    • Work collaboratively with local teams and internal stakeholders to support delivery and client outcomes
    • Support effective billing and cash collection processes where required

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in a target-driven B2B sales role within energy, training or related sectors
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience closing high-value or complex sales opportunities
  • Strong commercial awareness, including pricing and value-based selling
  • Experience engaging with senior decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and develop key client accounts
  • Ability to identify and develop opportunities through proactive client engagement
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and structured pipeline management
  • Self-motivated and able to operate with accountability
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Understanding of training, compliance, or workforce development needs
  • Familiarity with LMS or training systems
  • Awareness of relevant industry standards or regulations
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and develop new approaches to the environment we operate in order to grow the business
  • Highly organised / meets deadlines.
  • Ability to remain calm and be assertive during busy periods or when dealing with challenging situations.
