Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a committed Christian, with a heart for service, evangelism and Christian discipleship, who is passionate about great hospitality. You will contribute to the delivery of an excellent housekeeping service for our guests and staff: helping keep spaces clean and tidy, contributing to a well-organised laundry and store, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety, and contributing to a team that works well together and has fun.

To achieve this, you will have a good eye for detail and a warm, friendly and collaborative manner. You will enjoy working in an active and fast paced job, work in a calm and efficient manner under pressure to set deadlines, and be adaptable in the face of changing plans and willing to go the extra mile.

Key Roles

  • Work as part of the house team to ensure that the house and other areas are clean and tidy.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager in working with other departments to ensure the Centre is prepared to receive guests as per their booking information.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service, including communicating with guests as required and being prepared to respond to housekeeping issues that may be emergencies/unplanned.
  • Assisting in overseeing and developing our Gap Year team and volunteers when they serve in housekeeping.
  • Maintain an efficient, hygienic, and safe laundry.
  • Assist in organising and managing the housekeeping stores.
  • Assist in keep up to date with housekeeping paperwork and record keeping.
  • Deputise for the Housekeeping Manager during their absence.
  • Have a working knowledge of COSHH and other health and safety regulations.
  • Fully contribute to the spiritual life and ministry of the Centre.

Qualities, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to work well in a team as well as being able to work independently once given instructions.
  • Have high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Punctual and able to arrive for shifts on time.
  • Able to work hard in a physical role that requires some lifting of heavy items (mattresses, etc.) and long periods of standing.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in house keeping.
