Job Description

Our brand-new Middlesbrough site is our largest yet and is equipped to handle a high volume of work.

You’ll play a key role in delivering an accurate and timely payroll service, working closely with colleagues across the business and building strong technical knowledge along the way.

Responsibilities of a Payroll Administrator

  • Supporting the end-to-end payroll process
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Liaising with the Finance team on payroll queries and HMRC administration
  • Ensuring BIK and PSA information is kept updated
  • Assisting with payroll queries from employees and managers
  • Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time
  • Working with payroll systems (Cezanne Payroll) and supporting related administration including processing starters and leavers and updating pay information, promotions and changes on Cezanne HR.
  • Helping to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal processes
  • Administering the company pension input
  • Ensuring salary exchange benefits are processed accurately
  • Occasionally assisting the HR function with administration

Skills and experience required

  • A genuine interest in payroll and a desire to build a career in this area
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • A methodical and reliable approach to work
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Basic payroll knowledge or experience would be ideal, but is not essential
  • Experience with Cezanne Payroll or Cezanne HR would be an advantage
  • If not, don’t worry — full training and support will be provided
