Youth Support Worker (Casual)

This is a casual position with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] (AfC) based at Heatham House, Whitton Rd, Twickenham. The salary shown is Full Time Equivalent, however this role is paid at an hourly rate of £16.15 plus a top up paid annual leave contribution. Appointment type: Casual, On-site.

About the Role

The post holder will effectively provide young people centred youth work activities including mentoring, one-to-one support, group-work programmes, holiday activities, educational trips and visits. As a Youth Support Worker you will:

  • Provide support, advice and guidance to young people aged 9 - 19 years old.
  • Oversee positive, developmental and diversionary activities during youth sessions.
  • Support the Lead Youth Worker with duties that improve the youth provision.

If you are an individual who relates well to young people and are passionate about helping them, please apply. Life skills and experience are as important as work experience. Desired qualifications: Childcare/Youth Work/Play work qualification NVQ 2 or equivalent. Skills and experience:

  • Experience of direct working with children/young people.
  • Experience delivering services that value equality and diversity.
  • Ability to work 1:1 and use your own initiative.
  • Ability to contribute to a safe and stimulating programme of activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children, families and professionals.
