Job Description
[Employer hidden] is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Part-Time AV Technician to support our vibrant school community with audio-visual systems, technology, communications, and events across the campus.
This is a term-time only position, working 20 hours per week (4 hours per day), with a start date of 1 August 2026. Two weeks will be required during school holidays, with occasional additional evening and weekend events (in lieu or overtime).
About the Role:
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality AV support for a wide range of school activities and events. From assemblies and performances to parent evenings and live productions, you’ll ensure all technical elements run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide AV, sound, lighting, and IT support for school events (during and after school hours as required)
- Support events in the auditorium and across the wider campus
- Assist with parent meetings, open evenings, and student conferences
- Oversee the use, setup, and maintenance of auditorium AV and stage equipment
- Deliver technical setups for teaching, performances, and events
- Train staff and students in the use of AV and auditorium systems
- Coordinate communications for school events with parents, staff, students, and leadership.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Hands-on experience with digital and analogue AV, sound, and lighting systems
- Familiarity with Apple iPads and laptops
- Experience using Logic Pro X
- Experience with Allen & Heath QU24 sound desks (or similar)
- Experience with FLX lighting desks (or similar)
- Proven ability to set up and mix sound for live performances, including radio/headset microphones and live instruments
- Experience troubleshooting AV issues in live environments
- Experience with live streaming events.

Additional Requirements:
- Experience working in an educational setting is highly desirable
- Understanding of technical requirements for music and drama
- Knowledge of acoustics in performance spaces
- Experience with inventory management
- Applicants must be in the UK/a UK citizen as visa sponsorship is not possible for this role.

- Permanent contract
