Precious Metals Furnace Technician

The Laboratory Furnace Technician reports functionally to the Laboratory Furnace Shift Supervisor. This role is crucial for ensuring the area of responsibility consistently operates at the highest standard. Shift pattern: Monday – Friday 1:00pm – 8:30pm.

Required Knowledge and Work Experience

Essential

  • A level of knowledge and understanding in the analysis of a wide and varying range of metalliferous commodities that befits the role with a desire to share that knowledge with others.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a range of formats.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach and work ethic.
  • Able to work independently and clearly follow instructions from the furnace supervisor.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work under own initiative in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities.
  • Work with a level of flexibility that enables deadlines to be met effectively.

Work Experience

  • Prior experience in a commercial analytical laboratory or commercial furnace room is desirable, though not a strict requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of GCSE or equivalent education.
