Job Description

We are looking for a Product Owner to sit in our global team and support our midcrop and Cytora Submission Ingestion (Sub Hub) implementations and new deliveries for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The role is to be based in our central London office, with global impact. This is a maternity replacement for one year.

Your Team
Reporting to the Global Head of Underwriting Transformation and Product Management, you will join a Transformation team that enables effective change in all Underwriting globally for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], involving the people, the processes and technological changes, including IT product management. The team collaborates with and influences diverse stakeholders, such as Global and Regional Line of Business Heads, Operations, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Global Programs, Global Pricing & CAT, Claims, UWIS, Legal, Compliance, and CBO, to prioritise initiatives, monitor change capacity and steer delivery.

The Impact You Will Have
As Product Owner you will develop our existing global products as well as new ones. You work closely with the Product Manager and other Product Owners and act as the key contact for the vendor and relevant Operating Entities (OEs). You are responsible for evaluating and prioritizing customer and stakeholder needs and defining work packages, so that the product meets the requirements of the relevant market segments. You will support the oversight of the performance of the vendor, participating in performance meetings, and escalating where appropriate. Your ultimate goal as a Product Owner is to maximise the value of a product and support the OE implementations and deliveries working closely with the vendor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organise, moderate and facilitate bi-monthly steering rounds with the vendor and all relevant OEs, including alignment on content with the vendor
  • Gather and consolidate feedback from OEs, including vendor performance, user insights and unique/cross-OE journeys, providing analysis and reports for senior stakeholders when needed
  • Maximize customer value of the Product and support delivery of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and prioritization of backlogs, working with the OE/LOBs
  • Project manage and coordinate the team work queue, content requirements and stakeholder needs
  • Work closely with the Vendor and Product Manager to create and maintain a product backlog reflecting business value of the work items
  • Implement Agile principles and practices within the team, acting as a role model for an Agile mindset and Agile ways of working
  • Achieve and maintain high business impact and customer satisfaction throughout the product lifecycle
  • Oversee vendor performance, ensuring delivery on commitments
  • Participate in QBRs, drive and follow up on action items
  • Maintain regular communication with OE representatives
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders and all key stakeholders across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]
  • Understand customer needs, create smart and innovative solution scenarios, write high-quality user stories
  • Provide an environment that enables the team to find solutions
  • Research and analyze the market and users to assist in creating a product vision
  • Collaborate with integration/System Architect/Engineering teams on implementations and manage change requests

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in project management, business analysis or technical solution analysis
  • Strong expertise in Lean Agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) and systems/design thinking
  • Proven ability to influence others without authority and collaborate in cross-functional, team-oriented environments
  • Experience in managing change initiatives and working in cross-cultural or international settings
  • Agile Fundamentals and Product Owner certification ideal (e.g. IC Agile, Scrum.org, ScrumAlliance.org)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Focus on innovation and continuous improvement, with advanced understanding of data analysis, automation and AI tools required
  • Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks
  • Fluent in English, additional languages an advantage
