Actuarial Specialist (P&C Reserving)

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring an Actuarial Specialist for the Group Actuarial department. This is a hybrid, full-time, permanent role based in Munich.

Who will you join?

Group Actuarial is the department within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] that's in charge of governance for actuarial key functions, ensuring sufficient reserves, and contributing to the actuarial aspects of performance and steering of the Group.

How can you make an impact?

  • Prepare actuarial reserve reviews for our entities around the globe and feedback results to top management.
  • Perform deep-dives in actuarial data analytics, identify new trends and uncover valuable insights.
  • Simplify and automate actuarial processes for reserving and reporting using the latest software suite.
  • Strengthen capabilities within the Actuarial Community with respect to new technologies.
  • Engage with stakeholders at headquarters and entities to provide strategic and financial recommendations.
  • Enhance Actuarial Function governance and promote best practice across entities.

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Actuarial expertise (5+ years) in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance, preferably in reserving.
  • Qualified actuary or partially qualified with good track record, member of a renowned actuarial association.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and solid technical background in P&C insurance.
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with senior management.
  • Advanced data analytics and programming skills (e.g., Power BI, Python).

Preferred Qualifications

  • University degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar quantitative field.
  • Previous experience in business related functions (e.g., Claims or Underwriting).
  • Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions.
