Job Description

Responsible for conducting onshore inspection, reporting, and corrosion management activities on mechanical static equipment. This includes assessing condition and determining suitability for continued service in line with company procedures, client requirements, and UK legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out work in line with ISO 17020 requirements.
  • Operate within the scope of the issued Letter of Authority under UKAS accreditation.
  • Perform inspections in accordance with relevant legislation and approved procedures.
  • Prepare and review Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) for non-PSSR equipment.
  • Identify preparation requirements for inspections.
  • Conduct examinations in accordance with WSEs.
  • Coordinate and support Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely technical reports.
  • Interpret inspection results against applicable standards and specifications.
  • Liaise with and support clients as required.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture that promotes quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)

  • Maintain a working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17020 and its application to inspection activities.
  • Attend and contribute to health and safety training and briefings.
  • Take responsibility for personal and others’ health and safety.
  • Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
  • Stop any unsafe work and report concerns to management.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and safety observations.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and risk assessments.

Essential Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience of fabrication, maintenance, and operation of mechanical static equipment on a high hazard petrochemical manufacturing site of which at least three years spent directly conducting in-service examinations of statutory equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of computerised management systems such as Credo, SAP and Maximo.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, excellent eye for detail and an ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • ASME Level 1 or working towards.
  • Meets minimum RG0 competence requirements.
  • Confined Space Entry certification.
  • Working at Height certification.
  • Valid site safety passport for onshore work.
  • Meets minimum vision requirements.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications

  • PCN Level 2 Visual Testing (VT).
  • EEMUA 159 Inspector certification.
  • ASME Level 1 / CSWIP qualification.
  • Emergency First Aid certification.
  • CTS or SC clearance.
