kdb+ Developer (Sponsorship opportunities available)

The role involves developing and maintaining kdb+ applications for capital markets, collaborating with business users, analyzing time-series data, and mentoring junior developers. Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial kdb+ development experience.
  • Solid understanding of q language and time-series data structures.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and the SDLC.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills.
  • Prior experience of working in Capital Markets/Investment Banking/Consulting.

Bonus Skills: Knowledge of Python, cloud platforms or other time-series databases. Exposure to project leadership or people management. Contribution to internal tools, documentation or community initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with business users to define new application requirements.
  • Developing, testing, and maintaining clean, performant code for client applications.
  • Supporting project delivery alongside Project Managers and senior developers.
  • Working as part of a close-knit team to deliver solutions on time and on budget.
  • Analysing large-scale time-series data and generating actionable reports.
  • Mentoring junior developers and contributing to a culture of learning.
