Ecommerce Delivery Operations Development Manager

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for an Ecommerce Delivery Operations Development Manager to join the head office team in Leeds. This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working (minimum 3 days in office per week). The role involves owning the end-to-end setup and operation of the delivery routing system, optimizing fleet and driver capacity, and leading a team of coordinators.

About the Role

  • Own the end‑to‑end setup and operation of the delivery routing system, ensuring stores have clear, accurate and timely visibility of required driver shifts and capacity plans.
  • Provide expert ongoing operational support for routing, acting as the primary escalation point for store queries and leading the day‑to‑day and long‑term development of the store helpdesk model to improve service quality and efficiency.
  • Continuously optimise fleet size and driver shift patterns to ensure delivery capacity is aligned to demand and enables an optimal customer slot offering across the network.
  • Drive sales growth and profitability by leading quarterly driver shift pattern changes, balancing customer availability, cost efficiency and operational feasibility.
  • Define and deliver the routing system enhancement roadmap, working cross‑functionally to prioritise and drive forward improvements.
  • Lead key business critical initiatives and projects, including quarterly driver shift reviews, routing configuration changes and network optimisation activities.
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of coordinators, creating a high‑performance culture that thrives in a fast‑paced, change‑driven environment while ensuring consistent operational excellence.

  • Strong understanding of e‑commerce delivery routing systems and last‑mile operational models, with experience maximising network efficiency at scale.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment, adapting approach and priorities through periods of change and ambiguity.
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
  • Commercially minded, with experience delivering growth and efficiency through optimised capacity planning and routing strategies.
  • Strong people leadership skills, able to motivate, engage and develop teams to deliver change in line with wider business strategy.
  • Line management experience is essential, with a track record of building capability and driving accountability within teams.
