Job Overview
As a P&C Development Underwriter, you’ll drive and transform broker partnerships through responsive, flexible relationships. You’ll focus on profitable growth across new business in Manchester. Travel within the Manchester area is required, with a car allowance provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the face of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] presenting propositions for larger Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate risks.
- Work with Trading Underwriters to negotiate coverage, wordings, and pricing.
- Proactively develop a robust pipeline of qualified growth opportunities.
- Lead the large case management process for new business.
- Develop collaborative broker and client relationships across the region.
- Underwrite profitable business in line with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] controls.
- Maintain a quality distribution strategy with key brokers.
- Monitor performance metrics (COR, Rate, Retention).
Work Arrangements

Your Skills & Experience
- Expert Property and Casualty technical underwriting knowledge in Manchester market.
- Record of securing and retaining large-scale business through senior broker relationships.
- Evidence of technical and sales experience with pipeline management.
- Insight development and portfolio relationship management.
- Personal impact, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- DIP Qualified or equivalent with proven underwriting track record.
