Graduate Veterinary Surgeon - London

We are a charity that supports sick, injured, and homeless pets and care for more than 40,000 animals every year. This role is based at the Victoria Animal Hospital in London, offering an 18-month fixed term contract with a salary of £35,000 per annum.
More about the role
We offer a fantastic 18-month development programme for talented and hardworking graduate vets, who are passionate about helping pets in need. No two days are the same in our hospitals. You will have the opportunity to manage your own clinical cases from start to finish in a busy charity practice with extensive diagnostic and surgical equipment. You will be primarily based at our 24-hour Victoria hospital, joining a team of 25 veterinary surgeons and many experienced nurses, ACAs and auxiliary staff. You will also spend time at our Merton and Hammersmith branches.
- Learn how to run your own consult list, seeing a wide variety of interesting cases
- Learn how to manage a busy hospital caseload with training in inpatient care
- Receive a tailored training plan in surgery and diagnostic procedures
- Receive adequate training in emergency work, before being gradually introduced into our veterinary surgeons' out-of-hours rota
- Take an active role in our monthly team development days
- Provide a much-appreciated service to pet owners in need
About you
You will be a practical, pragmatic individual who enjoys working in a team. With a strong work ethic and a caring approach, you will be committed to delivering excellent customer care.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Graduated from veterinary school and MRCVS registered by September 2025
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

- Demonstrable teamwork and communication skills
Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Relevant UK small animal practice experience
- Charity EMS experience
