Night Cleaner

Location: Southampton, Hampshire | Role Type: Contract | Salary: £12.90 - £17.00 per hour

Overview

We are currently seeking reliable and hardworking Night Cleaners to support the upkeep of a busy University campus in Southampton. This role is essential in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out general cleaning duties across campus buildings, including lecture halls, offices, communal areas, and restroom facilities
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors to a high standard
  • Clean and sanitise surfaces, touchpoints, and shared spaces
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals in line with health and safety guidelines
  • Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within allocated timeframes

Requirements

  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to high standards
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently during night hours
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to attendance
  • Awareness of health and safety practices
