Specialist Support Worker *Modern Slavery*

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Specialist Support Worker to join the Liberty Project in Bournemouth. This is a full-time, on-site role providing trauma-informed support to survivors of modern slavery. Salary £27,120.13 per annum. Closing date: 19/04/2026.

Position

The Liberty Project in Bournemouth is recruiting a Specialist Support Worker. Role based in safehouses & community, offering a unique opportunity to work directly with survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking, supporting them to rebuild their lives towards independence and safety.

  • Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centred support
  • Build trusting relationships that empower survivors
  • Support individuals to move into safe, stable lives
  • Contribute to specialist anti-slavery work on behalf of the Home Office

On-call participation required (paid extra). Full driving licence and vehicle access essential.

Requirements

  • Provide weekly 1-1 sessions with survivors
  • Work within professional boundaries using trauma-focused strategies
  • Listen to and build trust with survivors
  • Work with complex needs, challenging behaviours, and manage risks
  • Advocate on behalf of survivors
  • Build good relationships with agencies and liaise effectively
  • Empower survivors to find their own way and promote independence
  • Be self-motivated, proactive, resilient, empathic, and non-judgmental
