FULL DESCRIPTION

NURSERY KEY WORKER

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Nursery Key Worker based in Bromsgrove. Hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am-5.00pm (term time plus 8 weeks holiday club). Rate: £13.33 per hour. Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

General Duties

  • Be responsible for care and welfare of designated pupils under direction of Headmaster.
  • Share corporate responsibility for discipline and welfare.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Observe, assess and plan learning activities in the moment.
  • Provide supervision during holiday periods.
  • Support learning by observing, interacting, setting challenges.
  • Record children’s progress as per guidelines.
  • Assemble displays of children’s work.
  • Assist in development of basic literacy, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Encourage development and delivery of EYFS curriculum.
  • Supervise children during activities, breaks, movement.
  • Liaise with parents regarding learning.
  • Meet personal care needs while encouraging independence.
  • Maintain safe and hygienic environment.
  • Attend Open Mornings when requested.
  • Provide written reports on pupil progress.
  • Assist with planning for children with specific needs.
  • Carry out duties as deemed within remit.
  • Attend relevant meetings and training.
  • Help with pre-term preparations and clearing up.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. Excellent understanding of EYFS curriculum and requirements. Experience within Early Years Foundation Stage. Knowledge of room organisation, learning strategies, free flow environment. EYFS welfare, learning and development requirements. Planning for learning in EYFS. Statutory requirements of Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection. Skills: Develop good personal relationships, establish effective relationships with parents and community, communicate effectively, deal with conflict, be reflective, show resilience, promote school aims.

Desirable: Foundation Degree or BA in Early Years. Experience of outdoor learning. Excellent IT skills.
