FULL DESCRIPTION
Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Veterinary Surgeon at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] in Kinson, Bournemouth. Salary up to £75,000 DOE, plus relocation allowance up to £5,000 and welcome bonus up to £5,000. Full-time, part-time, or flexible working considered.
About the Practice
Aniwell is a first-opinion small animal practice with branches in Bournemouth and Poole, proudly supporting the local community for over 20 years. With a strong reputation, loyal clients and an experienced team, we are now looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join us and become part of our next chapter.
A Varied Caseload with Clinical Autonomy
Our patients include cats, dogs, rabbits, small furries and the occasional wildlife case brought in by the local community. Full-time vets enjoy a healthy balance between consulting and operating days, with the ability to tailor the role to your individual strengths and clinical interests. You’ll have the freedom to work cases up thoroughly, with well-established referral relationships in place when needed. As this role does include elements of sole charge, we’re looking for someone comfortable making decisions and working independently when required.
Modern, Well-Equipped Practices
This position will be primarily based at our Kinson branch, with the opportunity to support the Alderney site if needed. Our Bournemouth practice is a large, well-appointed surgery located on the high street, offering a spacious reception with separate cat and dog waiting areas, three consultation rooms with a conveniently located dispensary, a prep area, theatre, dental suite with dental X-ray, a dedicated X-ray room and a full in-house IDEXX laboratory. There is also a large staff area with kitchen and admin space, plus nearby parking. Both sites are fully equipped with digital X-ray and ultrasound, with the Bournemouth site also offering therapeutic laser and dental radiography. We are proud to be a Gold Cat-Friendly Clinic.
Supportive Team, Strong Culture
Across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] you’ll be joining a collaborative and welcoming team made up of four vets, three RVNs, two SVNs and a dedicated client care team, supported by a Director of Practice. We are also able to bring in a visiting orthopaedic specialist when required. Teamwork sits at the heart of everything we do, and you’ll find a genuinely supportive environment where your voice is valued. We have a real passion for learning and professional development, with one of our vets currently working towards a certificate in medicine. We are very open to supporting certificates, whether you are considering starting one or are already part way through. Beyond the clinic, we enjoy giving back to our community and work closely with local wildlife charities and Cats Protection, something we’re incredibly proud of as a practice.
Working Patterns That Respect Balance
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, worked across a mixture of early and late shifts. You’ll also take part in a 1 in 5 Saturday morning rota from 8:30am to 12:30pm. There are no out-of-hours requirements. If you’re seeking part-time or flexible working, we would still love to hear from you and explore how we can make this work for everyone.
Because our people matter
