Head Veterinary Nurse

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, overseeing all nursing aspects of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient and client care.
- Lead, manage, and support the nursing team to maintain high standards of patient and client care
- Collaborate with the Head Vet and Practice Manager to deliver the practice’s vision and improve workflows
- Oversee rota planning, staffing levels, and day-to-day team coordination
- Manage staff performance, including mentoring, training, and professional development
- Ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and health & safety standards
- Oversee inventory, equipment, and stock control to support efficient practice operations
- Drive financial efficiency through effective resource and cost management
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team environment
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
- Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced medical and surgical nursing skills
- Proven experience of leading, mentoring and developing nursing teams
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and professional standards
