4-day week, 8:30am–6:30pm, no Saturdays, no Bank Holidays, no out-of-hours

About the Role

Orby Vets are currently looking for a Lead Vet Surgeon to develop and nurture our team. As lead vet, you will be required to work along side the Director of Practice and Practice Manager to make the clinical decisions within practice, have a knowledge and understanding of the P&L, plus help promote and follow the care frameworks in clinic. Your role will involve a mixture of consult days and surgery day’s where you will be able to create a bond with our loyal clients and patients plus provide the personal touch to follow a case through. We have a varied case load, with the ability to work up cases in house.

We have lovely surgical facilities, with a dedicated op room and prep room. New ultrasound equipment, and radiography, with planning for future dental radiography. We are an RCVS accredited practice – core standards, Vet GDP and RVN training practice.

Work/Life Balance

We are lucky to have a local OOH hub, who takes all our evening and weekend work, including our bank holiday work. So there are no weekends to work leading to a happy work life balance. Our opening hours are 8.30am - 6.30pm, with our consulting hours 9am – 5.30pm leaving time for phone calls and repeat prescriptions. We are ideally looking for a full time vet working 40 hours a week across 4 days however, we can be flexible and are happy to discuss other options that work for you. 4 day week, 8:30am - 6:30pm - no Saturday's, no Bank holidays, no Out of hours.

Our Team

We are a small, but friendly team. Currently consisting of one part time experienced vet, 3 RVN’s, and 2 SVN’s soon to qualify. We have 3 members of our client care team, one who dual roles as an ACA, and a practice manager. All our support staff are highly experienced and have a great knowledge of the practice and our clients. Our 3 RVN’s and one of our client care team working at the practice for over 10 years, with some other team members with us for 4-5 years.

The area offers the best of coastal and rural living, with family-friendly seaside towns, award winning Blue Flag sandy beaches, and wildlife-rich nature reserves. There are charming villages and welcoming market towns nearby, including Horncastle just 25 minutes from the practice, while the historic cathedral city of Lincoln is only a 45-minute drive away. Lincolnshire also benefits from an excellent education system, with 15 selective grammar schools, making it an ideal location for families looking to relocate.
