About the Role
We are delighted to offer a rare opportunity for a Director of Practice and Clinical Services to join [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], a highly respected, multi-site practice delivering exceptional first opinion care across the Northeast. This is an exciting role for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon ready to combine clinical excellence with strategic leadership, helping to shape the future of a progressive and well-established practice.
Practice Highlights
- 5-site group including a main hospital and specialist dental facility
- Advanced equipment including CT, digital radiography, dental imaging, laparoscopy, endoscopy, and Doppler ultrasound
- Strong collaboration with a nearby referral centre and visiting orthopaedic specialists
- A highly skilled team with multiple certificate holders across medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, and cardiology
- Supportive learning culture with regular case discussions and CPD engagement
- Opportunities to manage referral-level cases within a first opinion setting

How You’ll Make a Difference
As Director of Practice & Clinical Services, you will provide senior clinical leadership across the practice, setting and delivering the clinical vision in line with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s strategy, standards, and values. You’ll oversee clinical governance, quality improvement, and performance across services, working closely with operational leaders to drive excellent patient outcomes. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will maintain an active clinical caseload, supporting and mentoring colleagues across the practice.
- Full-time role working 40 hours over 4 days per week
- Approximately 75% clinical with dedicated leadership responsibilities
- No out-of-hours or on-call commitments
- Part-time applications (30+ hours) also considered

- Proven experience in a senior or leadership role within veterinary practice
- Strong clinical expertise with the confidence to support complex case discussions and decision-making
- A collaborative and people-focused leadership style, with experience mentoring and developing others

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
