About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a referral ECC clinician to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract. What Sets Us Apart

Our ECC department currently consists of 5 daytime vets, including ECC and Medicine Advanced Practitioners. We are supported by a fantastic team of dedicated nurses, including several certificate and diploma holders. We are a friendly, sociable team with a good work ethic and great teamwork. Night-time cover is provided by our colleagues within the OOH team. In addition to the ECC department, we have highly experienced medicine, cardiology and surgery departments, including an ultrasonographer and radiographer. As well as ECC, we offer referrals in soft tissue surgery including laparoscopy and thoracoscopy, orthopaedics including total hip replacements, spinal surgery, internal medicine, oncology and cardiology. Our ECC/OOH department provides a 24-hour service, taking ECC referrals and providing care to inpatients in need of critical care, and emergency OOH cover for other local practices, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care regardless of the time of day or night. We offer excellent facilities, including a 1.5T MRI, 160 slice Canon CT, fluoroscopy, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, flexible and rigid endoscopy, digital radiography and in house laboratory. The ECC department has a dedicated workspace and equipment, and our clinical team undertakes regular RECOVER CPR training. Our hospital is located just outside Newcastle-upon-Tyne, within easy reach of the city as well as being close to the stunning Northumberland coastline and the Northumberland National Park, making it an ideal location for those of us with a love of the outdoors.
