Milan Veterinary Clinic, Douglas, Northern Ireland & Isle of Man - Discipline: Small Animal - Full Time, Part Time, Flexible - Salary up to £65,000 DOE
About the Role
We’re excited to welcome a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join Easter Ross Vets on a permanent basis. This is a varied and rewarding role within a supportive, first opinion practice where you will have the opportunity to work up your own medical and surgical cases while developing your clinical interests. Easter Ross Vets is a well-established first opinion small animal practice operating across two branches in Invergordon and Tain, with Invergordon acting as the main hub. We are proud of our collaborative and supportive environment, where clinical autonomy is encouraged alongside strong peer support. We work closely with established referral centres within reach, ensuring excellent continuity of care for more complex cases while maintaining a strong first opinion caseload.
- A team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, and 1 Veterinary Care Assistant
- In-house diagnostics including blood analysers, ultrasound, and digital radiography
- A varied and engaging small animal caseload with scope for surgical and medical development
- Supportive colleagues with individual clinical interests and informal mentorship across the team
- Opportunities for certificate support and continued professional development
- Active involvement in the local community, including agricultural and dog shows

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you will work as part of a supportive clinical team to deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied first opinion caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills while contributing positively to the wider practice culture, supporting colleagues and helping to maintain excellent clinical standards.
- Delivering high-quality consultations, diagnostics, and treatment plans
- Performing routine surgical procedures and supporting more complex case work-ups
- Working collaboratively with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff
- Contributing to case discussions and clinical decision-making
- Supporting continuity of care across both branches
- Participating in a flexible rota across consulting and surgical duties
Working pattern: Up to 40 hours per week across 4–5 days. Optional Saturday rota. No out-of-hours commitment. Flexible and part-time working options considered.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience in small animal first opinion practice, with confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive and positive approach to learning and development
