Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is a multi-site role, working across our three Small Animal practices located in Kilmarnock, Beith, and Mauchline.

Our Team & Culture

You will be joining a dedicated and experienced Small Animal team, currently comprising:

  • 20 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in Cardiology and Surgery, and others pursuing further qualifications in Surgery and Internal Medicine.
  • 16 Registered Veterinary Nurses, supported by 4 Animal Nursing Assistants and 14 Reception staff.

We are committed to delivering high standards of patient care and clinical excellence, offering a wide range of medical and surgical services in-house, with strong links to referral centres for complex cases.

The role offers up to 40 hours per week, which can be worked over four or five days to suit your preferences. Participation in a 1-in-4 Saturday morning rota (8:30am–1:00pm) is required, with no out-of-hours or on-call duties.
