We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] on a full-time basis.

About the Practice

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a well-established, multi-site small animal practice located across the West Midlands, on the outskirts of Birmingham. With excellent transport links into the city centre and beautiful surrounding areas such as Kinver, Clent Hills, and the Lickey Hills, we offer a great balance of accessibility and lifestyle.

Our large and experienced team includes 24 Veterinary Surgeons, 25 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 7 Student Nurses, Veterinary Auxiliaries, Receptionists, and a dedicated management and admin team. With certificate holders across a range of disciplines, we are able to manage a diverse and complex caseload in-house. Our sites are well-equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratories, K-laser, dental x-ray at selected branches, and a CT scanner at our Halesowen hospital.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

This is a varied role primarily based at our Lordswood branch, with occasional cover across our other sites when required. You’ll be involved in all aspects of general nursing, including inpatient care, theatre work, nurse consultations, laboratory tasks, and supporting patients from admission through to discharge. You will also play a key role in triaging patients, assisting with incoming calls, and supporting the smooth running of the clinical day.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 7:00am and 7:30pm, with a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota (8:00am–12:30pm) and participation in a bank holiday rota.

General responsibilities include:

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care across a varied caseload
  • Support surgical procedures, including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Provide excellent inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Assist with nurse consultations, triage, and client communication
