We are delighted to offer a unique 4–6 month fixed-term opportunity for an Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], based near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dedicated equine-only practice, delivering high-quality care in a supportive and progressive clinical environment.
You’ll work across both ambulatory and clinic-based cases, gaining exposure to a varied caseload while collaborating with experienced colleagues and visiting specialists. This role offers excellent opportunities to develop your equine skills, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
Our practice offers:
- Equine-only practice with a mix of ambulatory and clinic-based work
- Established, supportive and collaborative equine team
- Comprehensive inpatient facilities including stabling, stocks, knockdown and recovery areas
- Purpose-built treatment spaces including trot-up and arena areas
- Well-equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, gastroscopy, shockwave therapy, and motorised dental equipment
- Regular visits from external specialists supporting case development and CPD
- Wide-ranging caseload offering both routine and more complex cases

How You’ll Make a Difference
As an Equine Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll play a key role in delivering high standards of care across a varied equine caseload, working closely with the wider team.
- Provide high-quality veterinary care across ambulatory and clinic-based equine cases
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and visiting specialists to manage cases
- Participate in a shared out-of-hours rota
- Contribute to a positive team culture and ongoing clinical development
- Build strong relationships with clients and the local equine community
Working Pattern: Fixed-term contract (4–6 months), Full-time and part-time applications considered, Flexible rota patterns available where possible, Shared out-of-hours rota

You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You are a motivated veterinary surgeon with a passion for equine practice and a collaborative approach to patient care. You’ll bring:
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility) with the RCVS
- Experience in equine practice or a strong interest in developing equine skills
- Confidence in managing a range of equine cases or a willingness to build experience
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
