About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable, confident Head Veterinary Nurse to join our team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] on a full-time basis. The practice is well equipped with modern facilities including dental X-ray, digital X-ray, a new ultrasound machine, an in-house laboratory, and Sedivue. Our team currently consists of two veterinary surgeons, with a third due to return from maternity leave soon, alongside two Registered Veterinary Nurses and an additional RVN role we are looking to fill. The nursing team is supported by a Student Veterinary Nurse, as well as a Head Receptionist and a Client Care Coordinator. We are supported by a dedicated people team, as well as our own nursing and veterinary boards, and work closely with neighbouring clinics in Stanningley, Guiseley and Roundhay.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team
  • Oversee all nursing aspects of the practice
  • Set and maintain nursing standards
  • Lead clinical governance and quality improvement activity
  • Develop a capable, confident nursing team
  • Work closely with practice leadership team on culture and performance
  • Full-time role, 40 hours per week over 4 or 5 days including 1 in 4 Saturday mornings

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Significant experience in clinical practice with advanced medical and surgical nursing skills
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing nursing teams
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement and professional standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
