[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is a purpose built state-of-the-art veterinary hospital which provides the latest in cutting edge, specialist treatments for cats and dogs, supported by an exceptional rehabilitation and physiotherapy facility.

As part of our team, you will move across our Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic, Neurology, Medicine, Wards & HDU departments, providing high quality nursing care to a variety of cases in each of these disciplines. General responsibilities will include:

  • Covering a variety of nursing duties across prep, theatre, wards and imaging,
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and sedations of patients who are undergoing diagnostic imaging, surgery, and/or rechecks.
  • Assisting in theatre to cover the circulatory nurse role.
  • Placing arterial lines, central lines and administering nerve blocks to the patients under the supervision of an anaesthetist.
  • Providing support to the surgery & neurology departments and being a point of contact to clients, including organising admits and discharges
  • Providing excellent standards of patient care in our Wards and HDU
  • Supporting the OOH team with admitting and stabilising emergency cases

The hospital is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is able to offer the most advanced treatment options available for orthopaedic, neurology, soft tissue, and internal medicine cases. We have a dedicated Imaging suite, which includes a 16-slice CT scanner, 1.5 Tesla MRI, fluoroscopy, separate radiography and ultrasound room.

Working Pattern

A full time position covers 40 hours per week, across a rolling 6 week rota. We offer a 4 day working week, which comprises 4 x 9.25hr shifts between 15:45-22:30 during the week, plus a 1 in 6 weekend rota (Saturday and Sunday). We have a bank holiday rota which currently works out at 2 per year.
