Grahams Road Veterinary Clinic is a welcoming small animal first opinion practice located in the heart of the historic town of Falkirk. We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team on a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in caring for pets across the central belt while working within a supportive and collaborative environment.
You’ll be joining a small, friendly clinical team delivering high standards of first opinion care across a varied caseload. The role involves a mix of consultations and surgery, with vets working on a rotational basis and dedicated surgical time built into the week. We are looking for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, values continuity of care, and is committed to delivering excellent patient and client outcomes.
Our practice offers:

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Surgeon within Grahams Road Veterinary Clinic, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical care across a varied small animal caseload, working closely with a supportive and collaborative team.
You’ll be responsible for providing excellent patient and client care while contributing to a smooth and efficient clinical workflow across consultations, surgery, and ongoing case management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering consultations and managing a varied first opinion caseload
- Performing routine surgical procedures and supporting clinical work-ups
- Contributing to inpatient care and continuity of cases where required
- Working collaboratively within a small, supportive clinical team
- Participating in a rotational clinical schedule with dedicated surgical time
- Maintaining high standards of clinical care and client communication
Working pattern:
- Part-time role: 12–25 hours per week
- Worked over 2–4 days per week
- 8:30am–6:30pm working day
- 1 in 8 Saturday morning rota (consulting only, 8am–12pm)
- No out-of-hours or on-call requirements
- Flexible scheduling available where possible
