Senior Manufacturing Engineer

The role involves optimizing designs for production, managing BOMs, establishing build times, improving material flow, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary interface between the Design Office and Manufacturing to ensure designs are optimised for production
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manage work instruction systems
  • Establish standard build times for both standard and bespoke products
  • Specify and manage tooling requirements for enclosures and generator pods
  • Define and improve material flow and logistics across the site
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency
  • Support CAPEX projects, including justification, implementation, and cost tracking
  • Contribute to improvements across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Continuous Improvement role
  • Proven ability to translate engineering designs into practical manufacturing processes
  • Metal fabrication process knowledge would be highly appreciated
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with a strong problem-solving mindset
  • Experience leading improvement projects across operational areas
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and understand how engineering decisions impact site-wide performance
  • Potential to lead a team
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
