Job Description

We are seeking a strategic, commercially minded and results-driven Strategic Growth and Engagement Lead to drive funding, partnerships and influence for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International's sustainability programme.

This role will play a critical part in shaping and delivering growth across our work on sustainable consumption, including energy, materials and food systems transitions. Working across public and private sectors, the Lead will build and manage a strong pipeline of funding opportunities, deepen strategic partnerships, and help position [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International and its Members as key actors in the transition to a fair and sustainable global economy.

The successful candidate will combine strong relationship-building skills with strategic thinking, a network mindset and the ability to translate opportunity into tangible growth and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain strategic relationships with funders, corporates and partners aligned with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International's mission.
  • Develop compelling proposals, partnership models and engagement strategies that resonate with target partners.
  • Lead day-to-day management of partnerships - stewarding relationships to support retention and growth, tracking key tasks and deadlines, leading communications, understanding partner requirements.
  • Contribute to project co-creation with partners while safeguarding [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International's independence and values.
  • Lead the development and delivery of a growth strategy for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International's sustainability programme.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of partnership and funding opportunities, including foundations, corporates and multilateral organisations.
  • Contribute to broader organisational growth strategy, ensuring alignment across programmes and partnerships.
  • Represent [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] International at international events and forums.
  • Leverage external engagement to inform sustainability programme development.
  • Create opportunities for Members to engage with partners, funders and global initiatives.
  • Support Members to showcase their work and influence sustainability outcomes locally.
  • Work with programme teams to align funding and partnerships with delivery priorities.
  • Contribute to monitoring, learning and reporting on partnership and growth outcomes.
  • Capture insights on effective partnership models and funding strategies to inform organisational learning.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in partnerships, fundraising or business development, ideally in international contexts.
  • Track record of securing funding from foundations, corporates or multilateral orgs.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships across sectors.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate opportunities into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills, including proposals writing.
  • Understanding and deep interest in sustainability and systems change, ideally with experience in one of energy, materials or food systems.
  • Experience working across international contexts with diverse stakeholders.
