Job Description
To manage the Co-Pack operation for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] at our [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] chilled site in Bristol. The Production Manager will meet planned volume and commercial targets in accordance with Quality and Safety standards. You will be a role model for best practice at all times and through innovation deliver cost savings and provide support to the site.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 06.00-14.00
Key Duties of a Production Manager
- Become an ambassador for all Co-pack activities and liaise with customers and clients.
- Create a sustainable method of communication that links at all levels within the business.
- Liaise with all group functions to resolve operational day to day issues and plan to prevent re-occurrence.
- Work with finance dept. to identify areas of spend, reviews and budget compliance/setting.
- To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company Health, Safety and Quality regulations
- Provide a service based on Reliability, Quality and Repeatability, which is both measurable and auditable.
- To ensure that all areas comply with hygiene audits, both internal and external.
- To ensure all paperwork and systems are completed and accurate in accordance with company procedures
- To ensure GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to
- Develop a highly focused and efficient operation at site.
- Challenge the ways of working and deliver through innovation cost savings. Monitor, control and minimise waste. To act as specialist for machinery knowledge
- Ensure best practise is developed and used, constantly seeking improvements to layout, efficiency and stock integrity.
- Manage the output of assigned production and effectively deal with issues as and when they arise.
- Co-ordinate short & long term labour and equipment plans.
- Reviewing staffing levels by function, rotating staff accordingly in line with volumes.
- Monitor and manage team performance against KPI’s.
- To undertake such other duties as may be required from time to time, that reasonably fall within the scope and grade of the post.
- To effectively motivate a team of people to meet production targets
- Indentify and mentor the FLM’s and Key Players of the future. Create strength in depth through the development of the teams. Develop staff by training, mentoring and personal development plans.
- To participate in the company’s PDP program
- Drive own personal development through training and work based experience To conduct disciplinary investigations in accordance with company procedure
