Are you a dedicated Occupational Therapist looking to inspire and support the Children and Young People Mental Health Service redesign project as a Specialist Occupational Therapist? CYPMH Dorset is entering an exciting period of growth and development. As the Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will work in the Getting Help and Getting More Help teams within a THRIVE-informed, needs-led model of care. Main duties of the job

  • Managing a complex clinical caseload, contributing to service development and quality improvement
  • Deliver evidence-based, strengths-focused interventions across home, school and community
  • Work collaboratively with children, young people and families using shared decision-making
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary assessment, formulation and care planning
  • Provide clinical supervision, support and guidance to junior staff and students
  • Contribute to OT-led interventions, groups and resources aligned to THRIVE
  • Participate in service transformation, quality improvement and audit
  • Work in partnership with education, social care and voluntary sector

Person specification

Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience of both group and individual work
  • Extensive experience as a qualified Occupational Therapist at band 6 level or equivalent
  • Experience in applying a range of assessment tools and clinical approaches
  • Experience of supervising staff and students
  • Broad experience with clients with mental health problems
  • CAMHS Experience

Skills

  • Able to communicate complex information to service users, carers and colleagues
  • Lead others in development of knowledge, ideas and work practices
  • Team working

Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Evidence of relevant post qualification study (CBT, DBT, ASI)
  • Registration with relevant OT professional body
