Job Description

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Part 3 architect to join its team in Bath, UK. Join a small, growing architecture studio working across UK residential, heritage conversions and international conceptual projects. This role offers real involvement from early concept through to construction, with the opportunity to shape both projects and the direction of the practice.

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is offering an opportunity for a qualified architect (Part 3) with a minimum of two to three years post-qualification experience to join our team in the Bath, with a combination of in office and remote working. This role involves working across a range of UK residential and commercial projects, including historic and listed buildings, alongside early-stage conceptual and feasibility work in the UK and Middle East. The position requires a balance of technical delivery and creative input, supporting projects from early concept through to construction. The candidate will join the studio at an exciting stage of growth, with the opportunity to contribute beyond the immediate role, helping shape the direction of the practice, its projects, and a new business venture focused on advising homebuyers purchasing properties that require improvement. We offer flexible arrangements of three to four days per week or full-time, by agreement, with PAYE or consultancy options and a mix of studio and remote working across the South West.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and develop Stage 3–4 design packages to a coordinated, buildable level
  • Assist with construction-stage work including site visits, RFIs and contractor coordination
  • Review and consolidate existing design information into clear, deliverable drawing sets
  • Contribute to discharge of Listed Building Consent conditions and coordination with consultants
  • Develop early-stage feasibility studies, layouts and sketch proposals
  • Contribute to advisory and early-stage design work for properties requiring improvement
  • Contribute to conceptual design work in the UK and Middle East
  • Produce clear, well-presented drawings, diagrams and visual material for client and internal use
  • Assist with preparation of presentation material, website content and project documents
  • Support wider studio growth and project positioning

Qualifications & Skills

  • ARB registration with two to three years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical ability and understanding of UK residential and heritage construction
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge of Rhino
  • Strong graphic, layout and presentation skills (Adobe Suite or equivalent)
  • Confident hand sketching and ability to communicate ideas clearly
  • Experience independently creating Stage 3–4 drawing packages
  • Ability to manage workload independently and across multiple projects
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and visual
  • A flexible, proactive approach to working across different project types and stages
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the South West
  • Availability to start immediately or within a few weeks
