Middleweight Interior Designer

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is hiring a middleweight interior designer with four plus years’ experience to join its team in London.

Location: Central London, full-time

About us

We’re a London-based interior design studio founded in 1998, specialising in hospitality projects in the UK and overseas. We’re a close-knit team of around 15 and known for our professional but personal approach. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do; we build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and each other to deliver design that works and spaces that inspire.

The role

We’re looking for a creative and technically minded Middleweight Interior Designer with a love of hospitality design to support our team across multiple projects, from concept through to completion.

Responsibilities include:

  • concept and presentation: developing concepts, mood boards and 3D visuals for F&B spaces
  • technical drawings: producing 2D drawing packages (plans, elevations, sections and joinery details) in Vectorworks
  • FF&E and sourcing: researching and sourcing furniture, fixtures and finishes, and liaising with suppliers
  • project support: preparing schedules, specifications and presentation materials for client meetings
  • site coordination: attending site visits and supplier meetings to support delivery and maintain design quality

About you

You’ll be confident, proactive and keen to learn, happy working independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment.

You’ll also have:

  • a degree in interior design or interior architecture
  • four plus years’ relevant industry experience
  • full proficiency in Vectorworks and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop)
  • a solid understanding of UK building regulations and drawing standards
  • an ability to manage workload and meet internal and external deadlines
  • a basic understanding of project programmes, costs and budget awareness
  • good supplier and product knowledge, including FF&E and finishes
  • impeccable and concise communication skills, both written and spoken
  • strong graphic and presentation skills
  • a team player who is adaptable and enthusiastic to further develop their career in a well-respected studio

What we offer:

  • mentorship from senior designers
  • UK and international project exposure
  • career development, with six-monthly reviews and a CPD programme
  • 20 days holiday plus Christmas studio closure (typically an extra three to four days)
  • extra holiday days after five years’ service
  • a sociable studio culture (summer and Christmas trips, Friday snacks/drinks, and regular socials)
  • salary is competitive and based on experience. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK
