Hygiene Supervisor

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for an experienced and qualified Hygiene Supervisor to join the Hygiene team at the Kearsley Site.

About The Role

Due to growth within the team, a vacancy has arisen for a Hygiene Supervisor. The role will be covering Hygiene, GMP and Factory Floor Standards. The main purpose of this position is to manage the requirements within the department – effectively and efficiently – through the optimum use of people, materials and plant / equipment / machinery, in order to achieve output requirements in compliance with company / site / legislative standards of quality, quantity, cost and timescale.

The successful candidate must have outstanding communication skills and have experience of leading and developing teams as well as having a minimum of 2 years in a Hygiene position.

Shifts: Shift pattern and working hours will be discussed in interview.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure a safe working environment for the employees in the department.
  • Ensure all scheduled cleans are completed and communicated
  • Working directly with the Technical and Production Departments to ensure the highest food safety and hygiene standards are embedded throughout the team
  • Planning, organising and monitoring the team in order to achieve or exceed the expected performance levels
  • Responsible for ensuring that the required quality, safety, hygiene and environmental standards are implemented, maintained and improved.
  • To be aware of all food industry cleaning chemicals their use, mixing strengths and precautions.
  • Monitor the work of Hygiene Operatives whilst performing their tasks.
  • Control of site PPE, inventory and issuance.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience of working within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Good working knowledge of the BRC hygiene regulations and practices
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene & Safety
  • Chemical Handling Training
  • COSHH Training
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, effective planner, attention to detail and articulate manner.
