As an M&A Research & Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities, conducting in-depth market research, and supporting the overall M&A process. This position offers a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in software acquisitions, working closely with industry experts.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquisition Target Analysis: Evaluate potential acquisition targets using our investment criteria.
- Carve-Out Identification: Assess corporations to identify viable carve-out opportunities.
- Big Data Management: Maintain and oversee data integrity within our CRM, ensuring accuracy of KPIs and dashboards.
- Market Research: Conduct detailed market analysis on new verticals and geographies to support expansion efforts.
- M&A Advisor Mapping: Identify and map relevant software M&A advisors, from global firms to boutique consultancies.
- Data Source Evaluation: Research and assess third-party data sources, industry lists, and trade conferences.
- Transaction Support: Assist in due diligence processes, including market analysis, contract review, and competitor research.
- Ad Hoc Research Projects: Support Business Development Executives and Group Leaders with specialized research initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Experience in Research and/or Financial Services is preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset and intellectual curiosity.
- Interest in the software and technology sectors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate data from multiple sources.
- Solid understanding of research methodologies and M&A origination processes.
