About the Role

Here at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], we are looking for a Lecturer in Carpentry to join our team, teaching across a wide range of Level 1, 2 & 3 City & Guilds programmes. The courses are a mixture of coursework and practical assessment, taking place in our purpose built workshops at Cannock Campus, and TORC Campus (in Tamworth). We are seeking an innovative practitioner who can design engaging assessments that inspire our learners.

Following agreed schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring procedures are an essential component of this work. A key aim is to ensure that students meet and exceed their target grades.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional qualification and industry experience within the carpentry industry
  • Willingness to achieve a teaching qualification if not already held
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to support, motivate and empathise with young learners
  • Awareness of quality standards and ability to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
