Position
As Key Account Manager, you will be responsible for securing Commercial, and Collaborative R&D revenue in defined technology and/or sectoral areas through the development and growth of key customer accounts, including commercial opportunities and funded research collaborations with industry and academia. You will develop and convert a pipeline of opportunities by crafting compelling value propositions, forming strong consortia and aligning projects to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s capabilities and national priorities. Acting as a trusted advisor to customers and an advocate for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s expertise, you will support the growth of our business in key areas including power electronics, and communications in AI Data Centre Infrastructure. You will:
- Act as the primary owner of assigned strategic accounts, coordinating internal teams to deliver long-term value and repeat business
- Develop and grow commercial and CR&D opportunity pipelines
- Understand funded research opportunities and programmes (such as Innovate UK, Eureka!, Horizon Europe, ATI, APC and ESA) and align these to account development plans
- Bring disparate industrial capabilities together to develop a cohort of potential customers and business opportunities with OEM, tier 1, tier 2 and lower supply chain stakeholders, with a focus on long-term account growth
- Build a technical marketing value proposition that can bring industrial communities together to develop a strategic technology roadmap and research programme that will attract both private sector and government investment
- Work with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Engineering teams to understand capability and define our value proposition within commercial and CR&D projects
- Work with the CR&D and Commercial business teams to leverage [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] capability across cross-over technology areas between RF, Power Electronics, Photonics and Packaging.
- Develop and maintain strategic account plans covering both commercial customers and CR&D partners.
- Act as the primary relationship owner for assigned strategic accounts, coordinating internal stakeholders to secure revenue and follow-on activity.
Requirements
- Ideally Degree / PHD Qualified in relevant STEM subject or able to demonstrate a significant amount of directly relevant experience and success in a similar role, within the same (or similar) industry
- Extensive knowledge of AI data and industrial power technologies, markets and companies with a proven industrial track record
- Strong relationships with companies across the supply chain working in AI data centre infrastructure and industrial power
- Proven capability in putting together projects, proposals and consortia
- Proven track record of building relationship externally with partners, customers and suppliers
- Proven track record in converting interest into action, commitment and revenue
- This is a field-based role with UK wide travel expected (approx. 2-3 days, according to the needs of the business). International travel will be occasional.
