Purpose of the Role
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] are seeking a motivated Terminal Operative to join our busy Avonmouth Docks depot. This is a great opportunity for those with an industrial background or anyone keen to develop practical skills in a hands-on role. You’ll be responsible for operating pumps and handling terminal activities at our Bitumen facility, always ensuring strict safety and quality standards. Full training is provided, making this ideal for both experienced candidates and those new to the field.
You will work a 45-hour rotating shift pattern between 4:00am and 7:00pm, including some weekends.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the Depot Manager in ensuring safe and efficient storage and supply of bitumen
- Attach hoses and load bitumen into customer tankers
- Accurately operate computer systems
- Assist with site maintenance while following all safety procedures and site-specific risk assessments
- Build strong working relationships with site personnel
- Attend safety briefings and inductions
- Complete required paperwork
- Be flexible in supporting additional tasks as needed
Ideal Candidate
- Industrial background or motivated to embark on a career in a busy operational environment
- Willing to work shifts
- Computer literate
- Appreciation for Health & Safety
- Positive attitude to work and learning
- Ability to access public transport suitable for shift patterns (depot is 15-minute walk from Avonmouth train station)
