Purpose of the Role
To carry out repairs and maintenance to a high standard on a variety of On Track Machines operated by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] to ensure that the on-site reliability and safety is maintained in line with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ROGS regulations. To provide additional technical and practical support to fitter/operators during in-Depot machine maintenance. When required to assist in any maintenance activities on On Track Plant away from the Home depot.
Person Specification
- To be able to work a shift pattern that will include nights and weekends.
- Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures when carrying out maintenance works.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work safely and under own initiative without supervision.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and maintenance schedules.
- Physically fit and have passed the require company medical.
- Flexible, honest and reliable.
- Have an extensive knowledge and in date competencies on a wide range of On Track Machines.
- Posses a structured methodical approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrate the ability to work equally as well as an individual or as part of a team.
- Have served any approved and appropriate apprenticeship either internal or external may be advantageous.
- Willingness to continue personal development through training.
- Having a positive outlook on the requirement for continuous change to accommodate the current business needs.
- Having an enquiring and inquisitive mind and being prepared to challenge and think outside of the recognised cultural norm on procedures and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out maintenance and repairs to a high standard in the Home depot on all On Track Machines operated by [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]
- To work safely with due regard to their own and other peoples well being.
- During depot activities to keep the workplace clean and tidy at all times in compliance with all Health and Safety and Environmental practices and policies.
- At all times wear personal protective equipment appropriate to the tasks being carried out.
- Comply with all local and company rules or instructions on safety matters.
- Participate in a positive manner in all company safety initiatives.
- Attend safety briefing sessions as required by the company.
- Complete all appropriate documentation for periodic maintenance in a responsible and professional manner making it available to The Maintenance Team Leaders for examination and filling.
- When required work on On Track Machines away from the Home Depot.
- Attend for work in compliance with a previously agreed Rota, which may include weekends and night shifts.
- Be prepared to attend off or on-site training to improve knowledge and competence of maintenance techniques and practices.
- Present themselves for duty promptly and fit to carry out their duties as required by the company policy and procedures and when required book on and off duty through the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Control Desk at Rugby.
- At the end of each working shift provide a comprehensive written account to the Maintenance Team Leader detailing all works carried out.
- From time to time if the need arises be prepared to lodge away from home for a limited period in order to efficiently carry out maintenance duties on On Track Machines.
- Be in possession of a full UK road vehicle driving licence, which must be presented for inspection by the company annually or as and when required.
- When driving company vehicles, do so within the bounds of the Highway Code and any appropriate company instructions or procedures.
- Participate in the taking of samples for analysis and any works arising from these as part of the Condition Based Monitoring scheme.
- Comply with all company procedures regarding issuing equipment from Depot based stores holdings.
- Participate fully and proactively in the company competency assessment programme.
- As you will expect the organisation may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
