About the Role
For over 100 years, [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group has been part of the Plymouth community, and we’re now looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team. With three sites across the city, you’ll enjoy variety, collaboration and exposure to a diverse caseload. As a small animal practice, we see a wide range of patients, with your three-day week including one dedicated surgical day and the rest focused on consultations and medical work-ups. Alongside routine procedures, you’ll also see cases in areas such as orthopaedics and dermatology, keeping the role varied and rewarding. You’ll be supported by excellent facilities including ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, endoscopy and laparoscopic equipment. Whether you’re experienced or looking to build on your skills, mentorship and support are always available. You’ll be joining a welcoming team of vets, RVNs and support staff, with certificate holders in ECC and orthopaedics and a strong culture of shared learning. How You’ll Make a Difference
- The position is 30 hours per week over 3 days (8:30am–7pm) with 1:6 Saturday mornings, consult only and sole charge, though support is always available.
- No OOH or on call work; can also consider candidates looking for 20+ hours per week.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
