Night Veterinary Nurse

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], part of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], is seeking a confident Registered Veterinary Nurse for a part-time night shift role (4 on, 10 off) to provide advanced nursing care to complex cases in a specialist referral hospital. The role offers a supportive team environment, CPD opportunities, and competitive hourly rate of £18.20 - £20.96/hr.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an OOH Veterinary Nurse, you will deliver advanced nursing care within our dedicated Wards facility, supporting the case management of a variety of complex cases. You’ll work collaboratively within the night team, contributing specialist nursing expertise to patient care, supporting clinical decision-making, and sharing knowledge with colleagues to continually improve standards within your discipline.

  • Work with a diverse caseload including hospitalised medical and surgical inpatients across different wards (dog wards, ICU/high-dependency unit, separate cat ward).
  • Support from anaesthesia team around the clock for out-of-hours emergency procedures.
  • Dedicated specialists on call for each discipline to provide emergency support.
  • Part-time position: 4 on, 10 off (Friday-Monday every other week), averaging 26hrs/week, shifts 19:00-08:00.

You Might Be a Great Fit If...

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Significant experience in clinical practice with an interest in OOH and Wards nursing
  • Experience working with complex cases in a referral or advanced-care setting would be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical governance, and continuous improvement
