About the Role
We are pleased to invite applications for a three-year fixed-term Medicine Residency at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], commencing July 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated veterinarian to develop advanced expertise in internal medicine within a highly respected, specialist-led referral hospital. The successful candidate will work closely with a collaborative team of boarded Medicine Specialists, Residents, and an experienced, dedicated nursing team in a large multidisciplinary environment renowned for clinical excellence and high standards of patient care.

How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Veterinary Resident, you will undertake a recognised EBVS (or equivalent) approved specialist training programme under the supervision of a recognised Specialist. You will be an integral member of the referral hospital team, delivering advanced veterinary care while developing specialist clinical, professional, and academic competencies. This role involves managing complex cases under supervision, participating in out-of-hours and weekend duties, and actively engaging in teaching, research, and clinical governance activities.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8.00am–6.30pm, with flexibility required to accommodate clinical caseloads. The residency includes:
- 1 in 4 weekend on-call emergency rota
- Protected off-clinic time for study and research
- Supportive supervision within a structured residency programme

You are a highly motivated veterinary surgeon who is committed to developing specialist expertise within a structured training environment. You’ll bring:
- A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS, eligible for, or acceptance onto, an EBVS (or equivalent) recognised residency programme
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a demanding workload
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
- A reflective and self-directed approach to learning and professional development
- Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure clinical environment
