We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our specialist home in Tyldesley, Manchester to provide high-quality care and life-enriching opportunities to the people we support.
Job Role
Wareing, is one of our new purpose built, homely, spacious and specialist homes in Tyldesley, Manchester, supporting 4 adults with autism and learning disabilities to be independent and achieve their own individual outcomes.
As part of a support team you will be responsible for assisting them in their transition into their new home. You will get to know each of the people that we support and find out their interests and likeable activities, to create fulfilment of each day.
As a Senior Support Worker, you will be leading the team whilst you are on shift, acting as a role model to deliver the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and support the team during each shift, promoting a positive culture and acting as a professional role model.
- Coordinate daily operations, including plans, activities, appointments and budgets, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the shift.
- Oversee and complete all required documentation, digital logs and audits, reviewing and signing off records completed by the team.
- Maintain safety and compliance by escalating health and safety concerns, monitoring medication procedures and ensuring policies are followed.
- Ensure accurate reporting and follow-up of incidents, behaviour logs, safeguarding concerns and post-incident debriefs.
- Act as a senior member of the team, advocating for and supporting the continuous development of the home, role modelling best practice in care.
What we’re looking for
- Level 2 Adult Care Worker Qualification or equivalent is desirable (Adult’s only)
- Previous experience in a care role in a senior/team leader/supervisory capacity
- Be committed to continuous improvement of the home and the team
- A passion for person-centred care
- Resilient and tenacious
- Have a positive and proactive mindset
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence is preferred.
