Environmental Engineer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Defence UK System Safety and Environmental Engineering Team in Bristol/Yeovil, England. This is an onsite role requiring UK National status and eligibility for SC clearance.

About the Role
The Environmental Engineering capability is dedicated to ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, policy and standards and reducing environmental risks. Responsibilities include:
- Assist with integration of environmental management in design and development.
- Develop environmental deliverables such as management plans, registers, and hazardous materials reports.
- Drive environmental objectives and targets.
- Influence product life-cycle environmental considerations.
- Support the BDUK Environmental Management System and comply with UK legislation.
- Develop platform sustainability plans and promote sustainability.
- Collaborate with technical disciplines and manage supplier deliverables.
- Support audit activities and develop corrective actions.
Basic Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent.
- Member of or working towards a recognised UK environmental professional body (e.g. ISEP).
- Experience in environmental management/engineering in aviation or highly regulated industries.
- Solid knowledge of environmental law, policy and industry standards (UK REACH, ISO 14001, Defence Standard 00-051).
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Collaborative mindset and UK National status with eligibility for SC clearance.
Desired Skills
- Proven experience with environmental assessment techniques and risk analyses.
- Highly organised with ability to manage multiple projects.
- Environmental auditing experience.
